Holiday accommodation and conference centre switches to biomass
Douneside is a holiday country house for serving or retired commissioned Officers of the Armed Services and their family and is a registered club owned by The MacRobert Trust. It also serves as a conference centre for businesses and other organisations.
Lying above the village of Tarland in the Scottish Highlands and 30 miles west of Aberdeen on Royal Deeside, the house is full of character and has 15 acres of magnificent gardens and grounds with spectacular views over the Howe of Cromar to the Grampian Mountains. It is an ideal base from which to explore the beautiful Aberdeenshire countryside and provides a private, secure and secluded setting with a good range of up-to-date facilities for businesses wanting to conferences and events. And, as the former home of a distinguished local family Douneside House retains great charm while incorporating all the modern comforts that guests expect.
At HWEnergy we are privileged to work in some wonderful settings and for some great clients and our project at Douneside has continued that tradition. We were commissioned to design a new biomass installation on the site earlier in the year and will be producing a full case study soon. In the meantime we thought we would give you a sneak preview of the biomass fuel store and boilerhouse.
