Switching from fossil fuel to wood fuel is likely to generate considerable financial savings for your organisation.  This will particularly be the case when the impacts of the Renewable Heat Incentive are factored into any future planning.  However, the overall economic impacts of switching to biomass are best considered on, at the very least, a sector by sector basis and most effectively at an individual project level.  For this reason it is best to go to the specific section of the website for your type of project.

Our experience in the biomass heating industry has taught us that the price paid for home produced wood chip fuel will be very different from the price of purchasing high quality delivered fuel in either chip or pellet form.  The price of fuel will also vary depending on the quantities being purchased and the ease with which it can be delivered.  Another key factor will be the requirement for some client groups to have all service, operation and maintenance (including fuel supply) outsourced and incorporated into a single price for delivered heat.  An ESCO arrangement will also have a different pricing structure.
