Earlier this year we worked with the Co-operative Food installing their first biomass boiler into a store in the Scottish Highlands as a test case for potential roll-out nationwide. (You can read the full case study and see a short video about the project here.) We installed a smart heat meter which provides both our Biomass Service team at HWEnergy and the client with online access to up-to-the minute accurate reporting on all aspects of the boiler’s performance. The installation has outstripped expectations in terms of the financial savings made and the operating efficiency and is provoking conversation on how biomass heating can be rolled out over other retail sites.
Hear from the Co-operative Food’s Energy Manager
It is not surprising therefore that Energy Manager Martin Lowe has been invited to be part of a panel at industry leading ‘The Renewables Exhibition’ which takes place at Birmingham NEC on 15/16 September. The session will discuss the opportunities for financial gain through onsite heat generation and explore the technologies being used by businesses to produce renewable heat onsite, such as wood fuel heating, renewable combined heat and power (CHP), and heat pumps, and what works in which environments.
The panel will also provide insights into the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), how it works for businesses looking to implement onsite renewable heat technologies and what financial benefits it can bring – What are some of the barriers in generating your own heat, and how can these be overcome? – Initial investments -a cost evaluation of the different offerings for renewable heat generation.
Meet us at The Renewables Exhibition
We will be heading along to The Renewables Exhibition to answer any questions – we’re not exhibiting but if you’d be interested in finding out more about how biomass heating can impact positively on your business then do get in touch and we can arrange for an informal chat over coffee. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or pick up the phone and speak to Alasdair Miles 01397 706412.
