A pre-packaged biomass heat cabin isn’t what most people might expect for Christmas but residents at Hanover Housing Association’s retirement housing in Tarves were delighted to see the HWEnergy team arrive on Christmas Eve to deliver their brand new biomass boiler.
December was an exceptionally busy month for our Projects Teams who were working all over Scotland and in the north of England installing biomass heat systems for clients who ranged from schools, to hotels, to visitor attractions and housing developments. With a hefty list of deadlines to meet, just at the time of year when the nights are short and the weather can be particularly unkind, the teams made their usual herculean effort and met every deadline as planned.
For the site at Tarves in Aberdeenshire, difficulties of access to the site, including a number of trees and telephone cables meant the team had to bring in a 220t crane to lift the cabin high of all obstacles, but taking everything in their stride as usual, the cabin was duly in place just as dusk arrived allowing the gang to head home for Christmas Day.
This is our second project for Hanover Housing Assoication and follows many years supplying heat through the biomass boiler we installed at their Walter Cameron Way site in Fort William, where residents have seen their heating bills dramatically cut since the biomass system was intsalled.
