We’re delighted to have been appointed by the National Trust for Scotland to install a new 640kW biomass boiler at Mar Lodge in the Cairngorms. Mar Lodge was built in 1895 as the sporting lodge for the Duke and Duchess of Fife. Today it has been converted into holiday accommodation and still retains many of the original features.
Mar Lodge Estate occupies nearly 7% of the Cairngorms National Park and covers some of the most remote and scenic wild land in Scotland, including four of the five highest mountains in the UK.
The estate is recognised as one of the most important nature conservation landscapes in the British Isles: over 40% of the estate is covered by national and international nature conservation designations.
