Wood Fuel
Farms and estates, producing fuel in house, will use wood chip or log fuel, as opposed to buying in pellets from an external supplier.
For larger buildings or groups of buildings we would recommend that wood chip rather than log fuel be used. The practicalities of processing, handling and manually loading logs mean that this becomes quite labour intensive for larger quantities. Wood chip on the other hand can be loaded into a bulk store which self feeds to the boiler via an auger mechanism, therefore eliminating any manual intervention.
At HWEnergy we have experience of helping lots of farms and estates successfully produce their own wood fuel. We are happy to work with you and give you advice on how best to produce your own fuel as part of our committment to making sure that your project will work successfully for the years to come.
There are also examples of wood fuel production in our video case study section.
